GOD SONG

Zephania 3 17

Zephaniah was one of the minor prophets of the Old Testament. Minor, not because he wasn’t important, but minor because the book that bears his name is one of the shorter ones.

The book is short, but it is filled with jewels like this one.

The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
    in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
    but will rejoice over you with singing.
(Zephaniah 3:17)

Imagine—

  • God, the Mighty Warrior who saves, is with me (and you).

  • The Lord your God takes great delight in me (and you).

  • Even though God knows everything about me (and you) He won’t rebuke us.

  • The God who created heaven and earth, keeps the planets spinning and the stars from falling out of the sky, will rejoice over me (and you) with singing.

God created everything by speaking things into existence. But He does more than speak; He sings. In fact, He sings over us and rejoices as He does.

That’s the God whom I serve!

WHAT ABOUT YOU? When was the last time you stopped to listen to God singing over you? When was the last time you considered that God rejoices over you?
